We are an International training center which focus on English, Volunteer work, and Development Education. Trainees will stay together in the training center and study English one-on-one in the morning. In the afternoon and Saturdays, you can join many kinds of field volunteer works where you can practice your English, at the same time, you can help people in the Philippines. 

私たちの研修センターは、英語・ボランティア・開発教育に焦点を当てた、国際的な研修センターです。研修生たちは、一つ屋根の下で暮らしながら、午前中は1対1で英語を学び、午後・毎週土曜日は学んだ英語を使って、グループで様々な分野のボランティアに取り組みます。

 

English Education / 英語学習

 

   
 

We focus on practical English or Speaking English. Do you think you can not speak English??? Do not list up the reasons why you cannot. There are more reasons that you will be able to speak English if you study with us.

  • All lessons are in English including the field works
  • 4hrs/day, One-on-One lesson
  • Using simple English with good pronunciations
  • Project type Group lesson

  • Origenal text books

私たちは、実用的な英語に焦点を当てています。「私には英語を話せない」と思っていませんか？私たちと学べば、必ず話せるようになります。その数ある理由のいくつかを紹介します。

  • 必要に応じてボランティア活動を計画するためのグループレッスンを行います

Volunteer work / ボランティア活動

     

IKAW-AKO is an Environmental NGO working in the Philippines since 1995. We have been helping people in the Philippines by Reforestation, Environmental Education, Community Development, Youth Development, Supporting Sports and Cultural activities, Fair Trade and so on. With this experience and the connection, we can perfectly facilitate volunteer works in the field where the students are interested in.

イカオ・アコは、1995年からフィリピンで活動している環境NGOです。私たちは、これまでに森林再生、環境教育、コミュニティー開発、青少年育成、スポーツや文化活動を通した交流、フェアトレードなどを通してフィリピンと日本の友好のために活動してきました。これらの経験を活かして、学生の皆様の興味に応じた分野のボランティア活動を現地で行ってもらえるように、現地の様々な法人と提携しております。

 

Activities / 現地ボランティア活動のスケジュール

月曜日：保育園を訪問し交流活動＆おやつの配布
火曜日：大学を訪問し講義を行う又は講義を聴講
水曜日：小学生とマングローブの植林又は海岸清掃
木曜日：リサイクルバック工場見学＆カフェみどり運営支援
金曜日：孤児院を訪問し交流活動
土曜日：上流部での植林又は農業体験

 

Development Education　/　開発教育

  

Development is important for the people in the developing country. However, most developed country experienced negative side of the development due to the rapid development. Therefore, we have to provide knowledge about sustainable development for those countries whose economy is growing rapidly.

Philippine is one of those countries. Especially Bacolod City is under the rapid growth in economy and city modernization is ongoing. On the other hand, there are many poor people in the squatter area and their life styles are still not sanitary and safety.

Discussing with the Filipino teachers, visiting the rural village, doing volunteer work for the environment or ungifted people, walking on streets in modern City, you can learn lots about Development Education. This experience will help you to become a person who “think globally, act locally”

開発は発展途上国の国にとって重要な課題です。しかし、先進国の多くの国は、急速な発展に伴って環境破壊や貧富の差の拡大など開発の非の部分を経験してきました。このことから、我々は急速に発展しようとしている発展途上の国々に対して、持続可能な発展に関する知識を伝える必要があります。

フィリピンは、急速に発展しようとしている発展途上国の一つです。特に、センターの隣町のバコロド市は、経済発展と近代化がすさまじい勢いで進んでいます。しかし、一方でたくさんの貧困層の人たちがスラム街で暮らしており、彼らの生活はいまだに不衛生で安全とは言えません。

中流層のフィリピン人教師と話したり、田舎町を訪ねたり、様々なボランティア活動に参加したり、大都会の町中を歩いたりすることによって、開発教育に関する多くのことを学び取ることができるでしょう。そしてその経験が、あなたを「グローバルで物事を考え、ローカルに行動できる」人間へと変化させることでしょう。
